work

bespoke

Tanya loves working with artists and small businesses. She approaches every part of the printing process with care, beginning with the design and choosing the cardstock to mixing the ink and packaging your finished goods. Tanya works with each client one-on-one to help make the perfect piece. Each design is both individualized and features the simple, Snap + Tumble style.

focus

Snap + Tumble's tabletop presses are the core of Tanya's studio. Her hand-operated machines are ideal for short runs and small cardstock so while she can accommodate large orders, she'll take on your project no matter how small.

Tanya embraces the slow craft movement. She hand-cuts the paper, hand-mixes the ink, and hand-feeds the cardstock through the press, one card at a time. This way, she ensures that all the details are perfect, telling your story beautifully.

process

You and Tanya will start with a consultation to make sure she knows what your project needs. When it comes to making an estimate, the more information you have, the better. But don't worry if you don't know all the details, they will unfold as things move ahead.

When inquiring about your project, consider the following:

  • how many you need (e.g. how many cards and/or envelopes)
  • the size you want (e.g. 4 × 6", 5 × 7")
  • whether you already have artwork or if you need a design
  • the number of colours you want to use in the design
  • whether your want regular weight or ultra thick cardstock
  • the date by which you need it all delivered

letterpress

Letterpress is a form of printing that uses a device called a "press" to firmly push a printing plate's inked, raised surface onto paper. The resulting impression distinguishes letterpress from other printing methods and gives it its timeless beauty.

The Snap + Tumble studio is equipped with four antique hand-operated presses:

  • 6.5 × 10" Chandler & Price platen press
  • 8 × 5" Adana Eight-Five
  • Mini Showcard proof press
  • Kingsley Hot Foil stamper
